The number of vegetarians is growing in Italy

In Italy, the number of vegetarians is growing sharply, among which there are those who do not eat all the products obtained from the exploitation or killing of animals.

According to official data (provided by the Eurispes research center (www.eurispes.eu), today there are about 4.2 million vegetarians living in the country, while last year the total number was 3.7 million. It is worth noting that in In recent years, the same trend has been observed: in 2013, the number of people who eat exclusively plant foods increased by 15 percent compared to the previous year. By the way, many scientists and researchers say that by 2050 Italy will become a vegetarian at all It’s because the total number of adherents of plant products will exceed the number of meat lovers.

In connection with the growing popularity of this trend in Italy, an unusual project is launched. "Pharmavegana" - A whole network of specialized pharmacies where vegetarians can not only purchase certain products, but also take part in seminars and trainings designed to make life easier for people who follow such a plant diet.

The organizers of the project are convinced that vegetarianism is a special warehouse and lifestyle that should be thoroughly studied before joining the ranks of those who voluntarily refuse meat and other animal products. Do not forget that often such nutrition can result in a number of diseases. To avoid such a fate, as well as learn how to eat right, the Pharmavegana project was created. All details, pharmacy opening locations and dates for meetings and seminars will be available on www.pharmavegana.it as early as May 9, 2014.

Red Canzian, guitarist and lead singer of Pooh, has already called for further development of the project, saying: “For the past 20 years I have been living in this world. And during this time, many things have changed, many have become vegetarians, even very strict. But despite all this, everyone understands how important it is to realize the relationship between concepts such as food and health. ”

Vegans are those who completely refused to eat any products of animal origin.

But people following this principle often have a hard time, said Renata Balducci, president of the AssoVegan association (www.assovegan.it). “There are a lot of us (vegans) in Italy, but the range of products is not as wide as in other countries where the number of vegetarians is much lower.” Balducci notes that adherents of such a diet are especially hard-pressed when it comes to their health. “Our diet can affect our health, so we need to look for alternative products, which, unfortunately, are simply not on the shelves. Therefore, the emergence of such a project as Pharmavegana, we cannot but welcome. It’s great that there are professionals who know everything about our needs and can offer a decent solution to all our problems. ”
