Dates of carnivals in Italy 2010-2020

Carnivals, also known as Mardi Gras, are celebrated in Italy and many other countries around the world 40 days before Easter. Since they are often the largest holidays in the region, celebrations can begin 2 or even 3 weeks before the actual Carnival day.

The culmination of celebrations in many Italian cities falls even more often on the last weekend before the Carnival than directly on the Carnival itself (which is celebrated on Tuesday). Take note of this before planning your trip and check the program of events directly in your direction. Our goal in this material is to provide you with the opportunity to orient yourself in advance rather than answer all questions 10 years in advance :)

Since Easter dates change from year to year, the dates of carnivals change accordingly. Therefore, remembering that Italy is famous for its carnivals, we tried to find all the dates for 10 years in advance, so that it would be more convenient for you to plan your trip. And another moment, if you plan to visit carnival in italy in such popular places as Venice or Viareggio, we would recommend making reservations for the hotel and tickets in advance. Some tourists who already had a bad booking experience at the last moment, henceforth try to reserve the hotel for the Carnival a year before its actual dates.

And finally, even if you are going to visit the Carnival not in Italy, but in another place, these dates will also be relevant for most of the world.

So, Carnival dates in Italy:
2011 - March 8
2012 - February 21
2013 - February 12
2014 - March 4
2015 - February 17
2016 - February 9
2017 - February 28
2018 - February 13
